Beryl is a mineral group containing popular varieties such as emerald, aquamarine, morganite and yellow or golden beryl (sometimes called heliodor). The latter three gems are sometimes found as large crystals, such as the ones seen here. Heliodor, which ranges in color from slightly greenish yellow to orangy yellow is the gemstone on the left in the shot of the crystals together, and on the right is an aquamarine, which ranges in color from blue to green-blue. While emerald is colored by chromiu
